Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Thursday, May 04, 2006

And a good day to one and all…

So sad to see Ms. Paris Bennett leave American Idol last evening. I guess the young boys who adored the pickle are now in the Mcfloorhump camp…
Last two weeks Katharine has sexed it up big time in hopes of gaining favor with the young AI male viewers…

This David Blaine dude sure knows how to promote himself…He is now in a giant 8-foot sphere filled with water at Lincoln Center in New York City. The plan is to stay submerged for a week and then try and hold his breath for more then 8 minutes, 58 seconds – longer than a dolphin…OH and he will do it while trying to escape from 150 pounds of chains…you can NOT make this stuff up!
He is taking air and will be fed through tubes. The water is being held at 98.6 degrees to keep his body as close to normal as possible. Blaine supposedly trained with the US Navy Seals and lost 50 pounds so his body would require less oxygen. Live or work in NYC...take a stroll up to Lincoln Center and say (actually wave) hi to Mr. Blaine. If you do not, you can tune in next Monday at 8pm EDT to ABC for a two –hour special David Blaine - Drowned Alive, which will culminate in the attempted escape.

From The Files – Quick hits:

From the “Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places” File: A 33-year old Malaysian man has wed a 104-year old woman. It is his first marriage and her 21st. I wonder if evryone thinks he is some kind of gold-digger...what do you say Anna Nicole?

From the “Does Anyone Really Care” File:
A Moroccan man who has been denied asylum in Belgium for the last 12 years has sewn his mouth shut in protest. Oh man, ya mean now i can't listen to him bitch and complain... oh darn.

From the “Always Read The Label” File: Dr. Inez Linke, a German marine biologist, is turning seaweed into red wine. She describes it a 16-proof vintage that she says tastes like fine sherry. So now, can I order this when having fish, or must I stick with white?

From the “Know When To Quit” File: A NJ couple welcomed a set of triplets into the world last Monday. A wonderful thing…except…they have another set of triplets waiting for them at home! The older set is 2-years old…can you say 24-hour diaper changing? Interesting fact is the couple says both sets were conceived without medical help. This story just makes me shiver so that i can't even come up with a funny comment.

Finally for today, condolences go out to Tiger Woods and his mom Kultida on their loss. We have witnessed many stage mom and dads in movies and sports over the years and there is no doubt that Earl Woods was also one, but he had learned to keep it in perspective better then all the rest. While Serena and Venus Williams’ dad is an overbearing clod, who seems to cry racism everytime something does not go perfectly for one of his daughters, Earl Woods seems to have been liked by many on the PGA tour. He had a dream for his son and he did what he felt necessary to help make it come through. As a dad of a son, I can understand that 1000 percent.

Has Barry Bonds retired yet? No? Too bad. AVG. .250 HR 4 RBI 11 SB 0 (got hit in the forehead by a foul ball as he stood next to the batting cage yesterday…still played…went 0 for 4)

Keep that spark of insanity kids...It helps keep you an individual.

  2. By this point, there are no bad contestants on AI. It's strictly a numbers game now. I loved, loved, loved Paris during auditions. But I'm a Taylor girl!

David Blaine....he is a trip! We watch his card tricks on TV. Wicked cool.

I didn't know people could have litters! LOL

My heart goes out to Tiger. His parents did an excellent job raising him, IMHO. Glad Earl Woods is no longer suffering.
