Wednesday Words....

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Wednesday, January 14, 2009

You may remember that a few months ago, Nancy lost her cat Sam to a kidney disease.

Well, last week she called and asked if I would mind if she got the boys a new kitty. I thought this was so sweet that she asked me even before she spoke to the boys. As she said "You will be living here soon, and I want you to be comfortable".

Of course I told her it was OK. A good friend had found a stray kitty and he needed a home. Though he looks solid black, he actually has tiger stripes that are deep black and then a less black body. He is pretty cute and the boys decided that his name would be...READY FOR THIS TRAVIS?...Tucker!

Not Mr. Tucker, the loving cat of Pam and Travis, but just Tucker.

Well, Tucker came over this weekend with Nancy and he felt pretty comfortable here at the apartment.

Check him out...(all pics enlarge with a clickity-click)

Nancy was being shy!

Sunday morning I decided to cook us a nice breakfast and put together one of my favs...a Frittata with breakfast potatoes, onions, red bell pepper and ham...YUM

Check it out...

8 eggs beaten well with some Frank's Hot Sauce added...

After browning the potatoes and sauteing the onions, bell pepper and ham
I remove them from the skillet and add half the eggs and let the set on the bottom...

Then add the rest of the eggs and put the whole thing in the oven
on 350 for about 8 - 10 minutes...

Take it out and let it sit a few minutes...

Then slice and enjoy...YUMMERS!

From one of my Christmas presents from Nancy, this is the CD of the concert she and I saw in Tunica, The Allman Brothers Band, this is called "SoulShine"

The eats look pretty good too.

  26. Anndi Says:
  27. OOH physics/science vs everything else! Let's play Mr Wizard.

In art and painting, if you mix various colours in certain proportions, you'll get black.

In physics, if you mix all the colours you get white. Black absorbs all light and reflects no colour. Complete black to a physicist is invisible.

In fashion, it's a colour. The people at Crayola think of it as a colour.

For a print guy, black isn't a colour...

So, it's a matter of perception, definition and perspective.

So I'm a dork... you knew that already.

  28. Tiggerlane Says:
  29. My mouth is absolutely watering...YUM!!

Love the kitty - so CUTE! I know I have been derelict - I'll be back on your couch soon.

  30. Bond Says:
  31. DIANNE: Yeah, how can you say no to a stray?

    STARR: Especially the Parmesan-Reggiano blend

JEFF: He is cute and thanks

ANNDI: Well in print black is considered a color...and if that proves you are a dork, then I must be also

  32. Jay Says:
  33. I think things are going to work out alright for Tucker. Achoo! (I'm allergic to cats.)

  34. Bond Says:
  35. TIGGER: THanks for the comments...glad your mouth watered and your seat is secure here

    JAY: Here is a tissue

  36. Tug Says:
  37. He's a cutie, even though I'm not a cat person either...

I'm going to have to try that breakfast sometime, it looks delish!

  38. Oh, hey! Am I the only one who noticed the ring on Nancy's finger? Close up, please!

  40. TUG: Do it....make the breakfast

    SONGBIRD: I hear your request...

  41. TopChamp Says:
  42. It's funny how you miss a pet - we fully intended not to get another cat after ours died, but Dixie is sat curled up snoozing next to me right now and it's comforting to have him here.

Tucker is CUTE! Cats are great.

  43. Ralph Says:
  44. Tucker is a fine looking feline. However, doesn't it seem as if the furball is looking right through you?

  45. Travis Says:
  46. Of course Tucker is a most excellent name! And the little guy will grow into his Mr.

  55. Kimmie Says:
  56. Hey Vinnybond!
I have been away much to long! A ring, a cat, and a delicious looking fritatta! ALL in one post!

Tucker is just precious. God Bless Nancy for saving him. I have a new kitten also that I adopted in November. I just put her photo on my blog a few minutes ago. She is a dilute tortie. Her name is Emma Grace. I love cats, they are so easy. Tucker's color or absense of it, is gorgeous! I can see the darker lines.

So, who is moving where? And an engagement also? I knew it right from the beginning that you two were perfect. :-) I am so happy for the both of you. Sending Hugs!

    Much Love,

  57. Meribah Says:

  59. Patti Says:

P.S. Like Songbird I also noticed the ring on Nancy's finger.
