EVERYONE GO OVER AND TELL
DESERT SONGBIRD
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Well actually wait a week...seems I had a brain cramp
It is NEXT Wednesday

Tuneage Tutelage - New Music Monday...continue or not?

The last two have had very few votes attached to them and I am wondering if the whole idea is really something y'all enjoy.

Between the cold here in Memphis (26 degrees yesterday - yeah I know that is a heatwave for some of y'all) and the fact that my back is still really sore and I have to tell you...I NEED A VACATION SOMEWHERE WARM!!!!

The St. Thomas thing through Nancy's work is not going to come to past. Her direct boss wants to reward her, but she has been told that she has not worked there for a year so she is not going to be invited...

Guess closing 5 deals in the first two months does not earn you that right...so now she and I need to figure out what we can do to get away for a few days together.

As far as the back, I had to suspend my gym membership for two months...I tried and just can not work out yet, plus in February I am traveling 10 of the 20 work days...

Did have my 6-month doctor visit yesterday (Tuesday) and I have kept off all the weight which is amazing since I have not worked out since December 19th and with Christmas and New year's I would have thought I had put on a few pounds...also my cholesterol is like excellent...so maybe the medication can be done away with.

Tried to watch the President Obama's Inauguration on my computer at work yesterday and could not get anything to stream. Was real frustrated until we received an email from IT telling everyone they has suspended all streaming video because so many people were trying to stream, the system almost crashed!

Will be trying to watch the replays tonight (Tuesday) as I have heard he gave an excellent speech.

Not a lot of words today, see y'all tomorrow....

  5. it is crucial with that type of injury to give your back all the time to heal that you can...

I know a really warm place you can relax...great music...wonderful food...plenty of things to do...just sayin'

  6. Jay Says:
  7. You need a hot tub. That would help the back.

I can't believe your boss didn't set up a TV for the swearing in at least. How rude!

Keep the new music Monday. It's cool.

  8. Dianne Says:
  9. I feel for you and your back. 26 has been the high temp round here and this morning my driveway is a sheet of ice - Oy!!

I can't always hear the music - between Firefox and IE - at any given moment I have issues with one or both and don't always have the time to come back.

I watched the entire Inauguration live - about the only good thing about work being so slow - and then watched again on the DVR.

It was a good speech and there were so many wonderful moments.

Take care of that back! Gentle hugs :)

  11. Good morning Vinny. Thank you for the comment on my blog.

I hope you don't end your Tuesday Tuneage just as I'm coming back. I always enjoyed them. I might only get to participate every couple of weeks, though, as basic survival sometimes gets in the way of the stuff I'd rather be doing.

President Obama brought tears to my eyes yesterday. He is a powerful orator and I suspect, from what I know of him, has the makings of a truly great leader.

I'm sorry to hear of your back problems. Hope that gets better for you real soon ... but I have no sympathy for a mere 26F ... not when it was -48C here the other day. Nope nope.

My best to you, Nancy and the boys. Sometimes things just fall into place like they were meant to be. *hugs to you all*

  12. ....don't stop the music...chalk it up to winter malaise...things will pick up...carry on, Sir!...

  13. Vinny, it will be worth every minute to listen to his speech when you get a chance! I can't believe everybody was streaming video... Ain't it grand? :)

  14. Tug Says:
  15. Good luck with the back pain, I know how it can suck.

I've still got Monday's post marked 'unread' so I can come back to it - just having a tough time sitting long enough to listen (when I CAN listen).

I found the pounds you thought you'd gained - want them back? Please?

  16. Good news from the doc! Keep it up...

  17. JohnH985 Says:
  18. Hope your back is feeling better.

I vote to continue the new music. I am always looking for new music.

  19. Turnbaby Says:
  20. I watched the jumpy feed from NBC and CBS--CNN never loaded---can you believe that they say there didn't expect the volume????

Do what you want on your blog--I thought it was about the sharing of the music mostly

I'm very happy to hear about your check up

katherine has a very excellent point;-)

  21. Might I recommend my neck of the woods for a warm vacation? This is the perfect time of year. Alas, we have no beach, though.

  22. Starrlight Says:
  23. I love the Mon/Tues features =) I vote keep them. My work computer no likey your page though so I have to get here in the evenings.

I streamed but our CEO also recorded it and then had it on the overhead in our cafe. It was awesome =)

  24. Julie Says:
  25. TT is kinda too in depth for me but that's just me...now NMM...I like that feature. Just saying...

Good news about your cholesterol (thank the internet gods for spell check....I never get that word right) stay healthy!

That's a bummer about no St. Thomas...maybe something else?

  26. Travis Says:
  27. I like the music feature. These days I'm not getting enough time to listen and comment quickly. But I do come back and listen.

It's gotten cold again out here and I can feel my back start to tighten up. We got new heating pads a couple of weeks ago and it's amazing the difference it makes to come home and sit with it for awhile.

This spring I hope I can get out and walk around the new office neighborhood. We're right near the water and there's a great park.

  28. Dana Says:
  29. I am a HUGE fan of New Music Monday, but I have to give myself time to read (listen to) your posts. Sometimes I don't get back here until the weekend.

    I say keep it up!

And don't feel too bad about your employer ... mine shut down ALL internet access on Tuesday.
