Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Thursday, July 09, 2009

DIY post punk-rock trio Gossip’s first major label offering of new material, MUSIC FOR MEN, hits stores Tuesday October 6, 2009. The album has been available via all digital service providers in the U.S. since June 23, 2009. Recorded at Shangri La Studios in Malibu , CA , Music For Men was produced by multi Grammy Award winner Rick Rubin. Music For Men finds Gossip taking drummer Hanna Billie’s pulsating rhythms and guitarist Brace Paine’s raucous whaling to a whole new level. Syncopated beats, punk rock attitude, dance energy and ominous bass thumps provide the perfect canvas for the unique vocal power and range of the band’s renowned front woman Beth Ditto.

9 Of Your Sparks

  1. Dianne Says:
  2. I saw Gossip at the True Colors concert tour. Beth is a goddess!!! what a powerful voice

and from Beth to Neil - only you could manage that with grace

  3. DrillerAA09 Says:
  4. Melissa Ferrick's music is rally starting to grow on me.
I will pencil in Neil's television special.

  5. star8278 Says:
  6. I've always been a closet Neil Diamond fan, ever since I was a lot younger and woke up with a stomache bug one night near Christmas. At 2 am one of the channels was re-airing a Christmas concert special and I was hooked.

  7. Jay Says:
  8. When I saw "Gossip" I thought you were going to talk about the show "Gossip Girl" and I was going to congratulate you on such fine taste in television shows. But, you were talking about the group "Gossip" instead. You still showed good taste though.

And God help the cable company if my mother's cable goes out during the Neil Diamond special. She'll burn their building to the ground. LOL ;-)

  9. Patti Says:
  10. I wasn't much of a Neil Diamond fan back in the day (!) but now I can appreciate those oldies. I like "America" a lot.

Never heard of the other folks you discussed. :-(

    At least I'm honest.

  11. Neil is an enigma. Some good rock, some bubblegum and some awful schlock. What's a Tape DJ to think?

  12. Tug Says:
  13. I love Neil Diamond! I remember back in high school, we're in BC Canada visiting cousins. My aunt, mom & I are in the garden picking veggies, and a bear joins us. Serious. My aunt goes on picking, saying he's just getting his. I (TERRIFIED) backed slowly away & then ran into the house. Point of the story? Neil Diamond's Cherry Cherry was on - I was in the house safe - I've been a fan every since.

    Weird, huh. ;-)

  14. Travis Says:
  15. My mom saw Neil Diamond back in the day. She says it's one of the best concerts she's ever been to.

  16. My friend from choir, Dan, LOOOOOOOOVES Neil Diamond. When we go out for karaoke or at parties, Danny HAS to sing Neil. Danny's nickname is "Danny Diamond." He sang "Sweet Caroline" at his daughter's wedding reception. (Even though her name is Sarah.)
