Thursday Thunks...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Thursday, August 27, 2009

The bloggosphere is going through one of it's molting phases - where people leave, people arrive, people change and it always feels so wonky.

I guess I can look back on two other times in my 3+ years here.

Do you get what i mean? It just feels like something is off and everyone is being moved around like little chess pieces.

I go through my blog-roll somedays and there are more blogs that have not been updated than those that have. Like walking into an office the day after a layoff.

Ever been through one of those? I have been on both sides and when it happens to you it is very strange, but to be left there...in an office where the staff has been cut in half - or in the case of an ad agency who had just lost a big car account - half a floor went dark in the course of three hours...

OK, well, where was I...OH...I started with that crap...Let me know...does anyone else feel it?

Will it go away soon? I hope so!

HEY - you over there in the corner...YES YOU!

Have you started working on your PEACE GLOBE yet?

You DO know it is being held on November 5th...right?

HECK-A-DOODLE...you HAVE to have a PEACE GLOBE that day or all your friends will call you a wanker-head...

Seriously, they have to - by law...if you are a blogger and you do not have a PEACE GLOBE on November 5, 2009, you are officially a wanker-head...

Go look it up in the "Book Of Rules About Things That need Rules" - page 2,456,987

Look, just go HERE and you'll learn everything you need to learn.

And if you need help creating your globe, just send me an email and I will lend a hand.

  9. Matt-Man Says:
  10. Oh that Samantha does get around doesn't she? I still don't ge the Blog for Peace thing. Maybe I'm just stupid. Cheers Vinny!!

  11. ...well I certainly don't wanna be a wanker-head...

  12. Jay Says:
  13. Does anyone host a Blog for War event? You know, to give the other side of the argument? LOL ;-)~

  14. Jay Says:
  15. Also, yes, the bloggerhood is very transient. People come and go. There are several people who have stopped blogging that I actually miss very much. Which seems weird, but oh well.

  16. I'm still here, just...you know, HERE here. I'm around. I'll be back. At some point. In the meantime, I'll poke my head in and out.

  17. Starrlight Says:
  18. Well I am and always have been a slacker when it comes to posting. I post when the muse moves me.

Oh hell. Now I have that Patrick Swayze song She's Like the Wind stuck in my brain :P

  19. I hear you Bond, I've found the same over my 4+ years of blogging. People come, people go...or like me they start a new blog. LOL, for various reasons, but this is it for me. I've two going now, one for the fun side, and one for the 'me' side.

I've considered taking off my blog roll and going with just the 'followers' route. It just makes it easier to go through the daily rigamorrow (spell check LOL).

    Have a great day!

    Miranda

  20. Bond Says:
  21. MATT-MAN: It is why I used to monitor comments...what is to get..Do you want PEACE in the world? Is there something wrong with saying it on your blog on the same day as others?

PHFRANKIE: You would not look good as a wanker-head dude!

JAY: The opportunity is yours Sir...go for it...and I know you have lost some also...

SONGBIRD: Your seat is secure...you get rest...you come back when you can

STARR: if you give yourself an ear-worm it is your own fault! LOL

MIRANDA: I have to get by to visit you ---sheesh
Yes it does, but my blogroll is so personal to me

  22. I know how you feel...about blogs and bloggers. Things slow down, don't they? I don't know why. I'm getting a peace globe ready.

Don't be mad at me but when exactly is your wedding day? I'm sure you told everyone but I missed it...

  23. TopChamp Says:
  24. bond bondy mcVinny..... nooo... you can't tell me to do things. It makes me want to be a wanker-head.

    grr.

  25. Mimi Lenox Says:
  26. Did someone say something about peace globes? Ahhh....they are percolating everywhere.

Those who have been with me from day one are very special - YOU are chief among them.
    Loyal to a fault.

    Thank you.

  27. Mimi Lenox Says:
  28. P.S. The blogosphere is not only transient this week, it's downright schizophrenic.
    VERY strange things happening.

And I'm going to have to schedule a conference with Matt. It's time.
I'll start working on my Power Point presentation to presuade him.

  29. Mimi Lenox Says:

  31. Dianne Says:
  32. what were you saying about wanking someone's head? you and Matty at it again?
    he's mine

  33. Travis Says:
  34. I don't know. Maybe people are out enjoying the summer and just not blogging much these days.

Maybe we should have a Back to Blogging sale or something?

  35. JohnH985 Says:
  36. I know what you mean about the blogging world. I have been remiss on my main blog lately, but been more than busy on Voices blog. I have some blogs on my blogroll that haven't updated in months, one or two even longer, but I don't want to delete them, I enjoyed them so much I'm afraid as soon as I delete them they'll come back. This is a strange thing, this blogging.

  37. Dana Says:
  38. Since you said, "heck-a-doodle", I'll look into it :D

  39. Matt-Man Says:
  40. Of course I want a peaceful world. I am merely asking how putting a emblem on one's blog perpetutates that result. I'm not being a jerk, I, and I have participated in the past, wonder about that. Cheers!!

  41. Tug Says:
  42. Don't know about anyone else, but I go through a restlessness... things in the blogosphere seem to be the same and cycle around, and I get bored & back away from the computer more & more. Sometimes life gets pretty chaotic, too, and I don't have the time. Sometimes? I just get overwhelmed with it all & can't deal. ;-)

  43. Patti Says:
  44. Count me in amongst the overwhelmed by life, Vinny.

I love blogging and such but I had to pull back. Thanks for being a loyal visitor. You're tops.

In other news, I have my Ruby Tuesday post all set to go! Woo hoo!!

I'm fraidy-scared to go back on Facebook I must have 300 notifications by now.

  45. katherine. Says:
  46. I ebb and flow in the blog world...

  47. Julie Says:
