Remember, only 27 days until the BlogBlast For Peace. Get your Peace Globes going…

More so then ever..even if you do not want to participate on November 5th (and why would you not) PLEASE for me...put a mention on your site...send them to one of the links below or to The Couch for more information.

You can find your template HERE.

You can read about Papa’s blue marble in the wooden bowl on the piano HERE

Also please say a prayer for MIMI of "Mimi Writes" and her family as they go through a very difficult time. She has spoken of it on her blog if you are wondering what is going on...

Was feeling a little punk today with a fever, so I spent most of the day in bed with a nice nap this afternoon.

In between, I was entertained by a group of rowdy emailers , many of whom I will be meeting next summer in Atlanta.

Remember, if you want to join in, then send me a message here or on Facebook and I will send you the link to our site there.

That list of 25 albums was really difficult yesterday. How was it difficult? Well I had to keep cutting albums out to get down to 25. There were so many others I could have included.

I am loving transferring the collection of music from Warner/Chappell Publishing to digital. The spectrum of songs is just so wide. Just yesterday, I transferred songs by Kiss, Ella, The Seekers, Tony Bennett, Led Zeppelin, The Impressions, and Skinny Ennis just to name a few - and that was from ONE CASSETTE. The cassettes are in alphabetical order by song title.

You may have noticed I have not posted music in a while.

I have a couple of readers who have told me the site is either loading very slowly or not at all.

So I really need to know...how does The Couch load for you?

What browser do you use and with what operating system.

I am trying to make whatever adjustments I can so that you can actually visit. There are a few people who never seem to come by and they have told me it is because they can not even get here.

It is very frustrating to me...indeed.

Going back to get under the covers and watch my Yankees play the Twins..and then Travis' Dodgers take on the Cardinals...

See y'all tomorrow...

20 Of Your Sparks

  1. Loads okay on my PC with Firefox (forget what version I'm using) and pretty well on my iPod touch with Safari. I think sometimes the widgets get tangled up with feed speed; I've noticed I have problems loading blogs with an abundance of widgets. Just my thoughts.....

  2. Starrlight Says:
  3. Won't load at my work if you have music. Loads dandy at home with Firefox and the pox ridden hooker that is Vista.

I know what Trav was talking about with songs being easier because I think that would totally be the case for me as well.

Emailing was FUN! I think it burned more cals than my revenge treadmilling =)

  4. TopChamp Says:
  5. It loads fine for me.

  6. Matt-Man Says:
  7. When you first switched to this site and design I would get an "operation aborted" message two or three times before I could bring it up...Now, it loads pretty well. I use IE on a PC with Vista. Cheers Vin!!

  8. ...in my humble opinion, sir, the reason your page is sometimes difficult to load has nothing to do with music, but rather the fact that you have so many days worth of posts on the page when it is loaded. With so much going on on your page already I would suggest trying out two or at the most three days of posts on the page. Seriously. Let people hunt for the past. I'm just sayin'...

  9. Everything loads fine for me, even with the music.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  10. Micky-T Says:
  11. It loads a little faster for me now without the music...but that sucks, I liked the music.

I agree with Mr. Bondo, you have A LOT on your page.

  12. Travis Says:
  13. Loading ok for me. On my dead screen laptop it was ok with Windows XP and Firefox. On the work laptop it's ok with Windows XP and IE.

Phrankie has a good suggestion about reducing the number of posts that load on the first page.

Take it easy and feel better soon! That exercise yesterday was hilarious.

  14. Hope Says:
  15. That's what was usually the problem for me though it has been faster for me the last few days since I've been back.

  16. Bond Says:
  17. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS SO FAR...

PHFRANKIE...you may have hit the nail on the head. Going to try and cut it back to 2 or 3 instead of 5 and then try and add back the music.
When I redesigned I got rid of most of the widgets and things, so I thought that would help...Maybe the guy from Cali got to the root cause!

  18. The Yanks rocked! 1 down, ten to go. I've never had a problem with your music. I have a new HP with Vista, but I had no problem with my Sony Vaio that had XP and was 9 years old. I think the "slow loaders" have crap on their computer that their adware or virus removers haven't cleaned...

  19. Jay Says:
  20. I'm pretty sure Phfrankie is right. I've noticed lots of blogs that load maybe 10 or 12 posts on the main page. They're always slow to load and often times crash my browser because my PC is older. When people cut down to 2 or 3 posts per page things get better.

Anyway, hope you're feeling better dude.

  21. The Couch loads fine for me. The content sucks, but the site loads fine.

    (I kid cuz I care!)

  22. Bond Says:
  23. BUD: I said that to someone and then had to explain that 11 games makes a world champion!

JAY: Yup Phfrankie is one smart cookie me thinks...can't change it until I get home tonight.

DOC: Well I have a blog that sucks...you have a blog and a radio show that do! SMOOCH

  24. DrillerAA09 Says:
  25. Everything has always loaded fine for me on Vista/Firefox.
I know that everyone rages against Vista, but I've never really had a serious issue with it. I don't like it's Media Center, but that's another story.

  26. Ralph Says:
  27. The Couch loads nicely most of the for Patti and I on our new Mac Mini. But other platforms might load not so well. For us, the culprit for slow loaders id the DSL - we haven't thought about cable yet. Still, being years beyond dial-up, we expect RIGHT NOW loading, so we may never be satisfied withe the speed...no matter how fast!

  28. Dana Says:
  29. I'm a Vista/FireFox user as well, and although you load a little slower than others, I still get the full Monty. Hmmm ... that sounds a little "dirty", doesn't it??

  30. DrillerAA09 Says:
  31. Oh yeah, I do use cable because I have a need for speed!

  32. Bond Says:
  33. DRILLERAA: Thanks for the info...hopefully I have fixed some things to help others

RALPH: Well it is made on a Mac, so I hope it loads on Macs...

DANA: Not a little dirty...fully dirty, but that is cool!

DRILLERAA: When I moved in with Nancy after the wedding first thing we did was get rid of the DSL and go cable!

  34. katherine. Says:
  35. I'm a Vista PC kinda girl using Chrome. Love Chrome. No problems loading at all.
