Didn't miss me I see...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Wednesday, November 25, 2009

Nope, there was not a post yesterday and I want to thank all my readers who sent notes of concern, as they do when other bloggers do not make a post for one day…

OH wait…sorry, never mind…I only got two notes of concern and one of those was from my mom!

Not that anyone wants to know...but our entire area was without cable, internet and telephone service from Comcast Monday night as a motherboard needed to be replaced and apparently that took from 6:20pm until past midnight.

So, Monday evening…all set to watch the finale of “Dancing With the Stars” and TiVo was set to record “Big Bang Theory” and we have nothing…

Luckily, TRAVIS of “Trav’s Thoughts” was there to describe all we missed on Dancing.

As far as “Big Bang Theory”, CBS does not stream its shows, so I either wait until it replays or I buy it over at iTunes…

Did anyone see the Adam Lambert performance on the “American Music Awards” on Sunday? I did not watch, but it has stirred up a whole wasp nest of controversy indeed. His live performance scheduled for this morning’s “Good Morning America” on ABC was canceled. But “The CBS Morning Show” jumped right in and booked Lambert for this morning to perform and discuss the ‘incident’.

It really was three incidents that have caused the furor…While singing his new song "For Your Entertainment" at the awards program, Lambert kissed a male keyboardist, fondled a dancer and had another dancer briefly stuff his face in Lambert's crotch.

It appears he warned ABC his performance would be sexy and indeed it was for many far too sexy. ABC reported it received 1500 complaints, a number they term as 'moderate'.

I am not sure of the difference between Madonna and Brittney swapping spit on an awards show and Lambert doing the same; but stuffing a dancer’s face into his crotch on a show that is in prime time is over the top IMHO.

Some say Michael Jackson grabbed his crotch for 20+ years, why get down on Adam? But Michael never grabbed someone else’s crotch (well not on stage and not someone over the age of 16 that is!)

Lambert appears to be flaunting his sexuality now…allowing it to lead his decisions and he seems to want to cause the controversy.

In the end, it should be about the music…from what I have read; if he had done this performance on American idol he would have heard “Dawg that was just too pitchy” or
“Adam, I love the way you look and you are just so progressive and I love your shoes and your hair…” or
“Shut up Pawler…Adam, that was very karaoke and I have heard better at weddings”.

One of my fraternity brothers has been a photographer for many years, having done fashion and other genres…

Now, he has dedicated his time to helping others…you can check out his website BRUCE BYERS PHOTOGRAPHY by clicking on the link. To go directly to his mission work, you can click HERE

The foundation he is working with at this time is the Hope Foundation For Women & Children Of Bangladesh, Inc.

Chase Bank is making donations to various charities based upon votes over on FaceBook…I am asking you to pledge your vote over there and help Bruce and the foundation.

You can go HERE TO VOTE.

Bruce writes: “As many of you know, I am a photographer who documents medical missions around the world. In 2007 I traveled with Dr Shahid Aziz to Bangladesh on a cleft mission. Through Hope Foundation I am helping raise funds to build an OR in a clinic in southern Bangladesh . I am working with the Rotary Club of Kingston NY to help make this happen. ...Building this OR would make it possible for many missions to work there.

We hope to have it built by Jan of 2011 for a Cleft mission to go there to help many children.”

If you also care to donate; please send tax deductible donations to

  2. I just thought you were probably in full holiday prep mode and didn't have time to post yesterday. Happy Thanksgiving.

  3. ...you're lucky to have a mom...

  4. Micky-T Says:
  5. WHAT? YOU DID? NO CONNECTION?

I knew you guys were survivors!

  6. BeckEye Says:
  7. Adam's been nothing but a disappointment to me. And to think, I was willing to pop his bisexual cherry.

  8. Mimi Lenox Says:
  9. Interesting the way Adam has chosen to express himself lately. I don't get the flambouyant need at all. He's a major talent. I wish he'd focus on the vocals.

Have a great day, Vinny Bee Bond....there will be pictures of the Thanksgiving feast, no?

  10. Bond Says:
  11. DRILLERAA: I guess some others thought the same

    PHFRANKIE: LOL..yes I am

    MICKEY-T: We will survive

BECKEYE: He seems to want to make controversy

    MIMI: It is interesting...ummm pictures...maybe

  12. Jay Says:
  13. Personally I love the way Adam is tweaking so many people and causing them to be so "tsk tsk tsk." I think it's pretty funny.

Of course I would never buy any of his music though. I already couldn't stand him. LOL

Have a great Thanksgiving Vinny and Nancy! ;-)

  15. I was looking at your glass... seems pretty full to me.

Adam. I don't care that he kisses a man... he could kiss a llama and I wouldn't blink. But that face in the crotch thing? During an awards show? Yeah, no. WAY over the line.

I find it ironic that the glammed one did everything he could to avoid the topic of his sexuality when came time to win a prize but now uses it.

Good on Bruce for his efforts. I'd say it would be a lovely gesture for your readers to click the link as a show of Thanksgiving.

  17. The vote link doesn't work. Says the page is non-existent.

  18. I noticed there was no post, but since we were e-mail convo active, I knew you were okay. Just sayin'....*grin*

Anndi says the link doesn't work, but I'll see what I can find by digging around. Have a great Thanksgiving; hugs to you and Nancy, my friend.

  19. Starrlight Says:
  20. Adam just got hit with major backlash as his management asked that he not be made to seem "too gay" in a recent interview.

Frankly I found it to be on a par with watching Beyonce thrusting her vag at me constantly in Put a Ring On It. Or say all the bitches grinding on guys during songs. I fail to see why hetero dry humping doesn't raise and eyebrow but this did.

  21. Dana Says:
  22. You know Matt-Man is the only one who gets a slew of "OMG! Are you OK?" comments when he doesn't post. You and I? Pfffttt!

  23. katherine. Says:
  24. I didn't worry cause (a) I am so far behind on my reading I didn't know...and (b) the hive seems to keep everyone connected.

what adam or whoever else does in video or in concert is one thing...what you do on a awards show is another. His age and inexperience are showing...
