Weekend Minutia...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Monday, November 16, 2009

Minutia alert...Took Friday off and spent all day finishing up the prep for the garage sale. I put signs up at the two main intersections to our community. Big and hot pinks they were sure to catch your eye.

Saturday the alarms went off before the sun was up and it was way cold at 6:00am. We pulled all the boxes and buckets out of the garage and set the big stuff out. Our ad and the signs all said 7:00am start, but as we expected the first people began showing up at 6:30am.

The stream of cars seriously continued for the next 6 hours. There was always someone walking though the aisles of items. Our sister in law also took a drive up from her home and it was nice to visit with her and she also sold a few items.

We did get rid of all the big items, which I felt was important. My bed - gone! The Soloflex Machine (aka big heavy clothes rack) - gone! The many drums and cymbals - gone!

We were all cleaned up by 4:30pm and now all we need to do is bring the left-over items down to Goodwill.

Both Nancy and I were exhausted and had some pizza and were asleep by 9:30pm.

Yesterday we just lounged around the house and watched some football and a movie and just enjoyed each others company.

Last night we ate some hamburger steaks in an onion sauce and creamed spinach.

Oh yeah, I have two CDs I will do reviews on this week. One I am having a real problem with - see I really dislike the CD...but I know it is music that some of my readers enjoy.

And that is really all I have...How is that for a true minutia post???

  8. I haven't been to a yard sale in a long time. When I lived in San Antonio, we used to go to the sales in the fancy neighborhoods just to see the nice stuff the rich people practically throw away.

    I like SoloFlex Machines. ;-)

  9. Uh oh, is the cd you dislike country? Lol.

Sounds like a successful yard sale. Congrats.

    Have a great Monday!

  21. What is it, what is it?!?!? I wanna know the cd now. I suck at waiting for things :P

Creamed spinach. I am drooling. Did it have garlic?

  22. Jeff B Says:
  23. I've had a few garage sales over the years. I enjoy the banter with the bargain hunters, but the few outright cheap bastards that expect you to practically give them things amazes me.

    Creamed spinach . . . I think I just threw-up in my mouth a little :(

  24. Congratulations on the garage sale success.

I can't wait to read about this CD that is music you don't like.

  25. DrillerAA09 Says:
  26. Glad you had a successful garage/yard sale. My wife hates having them. Our daughter likes doing them...once in a blue moon. I am sure you needed Sunday to recoup from the activities of Saturday. Enjoy the week.
