HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROTHER RICH!

Within the last few weeks, Rich was named Features Editor
of the San Antonio Express News.

He is a loving husband
a terrific dad to his two daughters
a wonderful uncle
a caring son
and one hell of a brother!

He also gets identified as Rahm Emanuel all the time!!!

IMHO..this is the Super Bowl that was meant to be this year...Saints vs Colts...the two best teams facing off in a no holds barred match. Two excellent quarterbacks...two tough defenses..

Looking forward to 60 minutes of hard hitting and quite a bit of scoring...

Have to give it up to the NY Jets, who proved they are on the cusp of greatness...a great rookie coach and a rookie QB with a bright future. The played the Colts real tough for the first half, even going into the locker room at the half with the lead. In the end Mr. Peyton Manning proved his superiority and ability and took his team to the big game.

Look for them in the future and would it not be tremendous to have a NY Jet/NY Giant Super Bowl in the next few years! Well for me and my fellow NYer's it would and I think it would hold a certain watch-ability for the rest of the country.

heheheh Maybe we could have another NY Met / NY Yankee World Series and have the Jets and Giants follow it up with a Super Bowl battle...

OK OK, I am dreaming here...but sports is about dreaming, is it not?

So the rumor is that Reggie Bush and Kim Kardashian have decided if Reggie wins the Super Bowl he has to follow it up with a walk down the aisle...Reggie Reggie Reggie, NEVER make wedding plans around a bet dude!

Personally, it did not bother me to see Brett Favre walking off the field and his season ending. At one point I enjoyed him as a player but his antics the last few years with retiring, un-retiring, retiring, un-retiring..playing around with teams and causing them to make plans and then change them...no sorry...He made a bonehead play to end his teams dreams...

ride off on your tractor into the sunset Brett...

So...who is you pick in the big game? Are you more excited about the game or the commercials? Have a party to go to or host?

Personally, I think the commercials have been overblown the last few years and they are not as huge a part of the day as they were for so many years.

At this point we do not have a party to go to..but that could change I guess...

See y'all tomorrow...

  2. After living in New Orleans for the past thirty something years I'm glad to see they finally have their shot at the Superbowl. I'm sure I'll have more to say on my blog about this :)

  3. Dana Says:
  4. Not the teams I wanted to see in the Superbowl, but the teams that deserved to be in the Superbowl.

No party plans as of yet. More than likely it will be just another quiet day at home!

    Oh! And Happy Birthday Rich!

  5. Matt-Man Says:
  6. HAppy Birthday Rahm. I get to work on Super Bowl Sunday which is also my Birthday. Eh, I'll still be home in time to catch most of the game. Have a wunnerful day. Cheers!!

  7. Micky-T Says:
  8. Happy B-Day Rich.
    So far no plans.

  9. Travis Says:
  10. Not sure about plans yet. Our rooting interest is for Manning and the Colts, although I'm not opposed to the Saints.

    Good luck to both teams!

  11. Jay Says:
  12. I enjoyed watching the Jets make a great run deep in the playoffs, but part of me went into Sunday's game thinking they needed to lose. They were getting better at running their mouth than running their offense the last couple of weeks.

Favre was a great QB, but he's also an "All about me" kind of guy here at the end of his career.

The early Vegas line is Colts -4 and the over/under at 56. Gotta think that line will get bet down and the teams should go over that number of 56 total points. I'm hoping for a real shootout with both teams scoring in the 30's. Those games are always exciting.

    Happy Birthday Rich!

  13. Bond Says:
  14. JOHN: I expect to see something dude...WHO DAT?

DANA: I am thinking staying home and being able to watch this game might be best

MATT-MAN: bet it is busy early and then dead beginning 1/2 hour before game time

MICKEY-T: Gonna try and make some?

TRAVIS: I am like you..I really want a game down to the wire...no matter who wins

JAY: I kind of like Buddy Ryan's honesty
Brett needs to go home to the wife and kids
Line last night was Colts -7 so it moved already

  15. Ralph Says:
  16. Rex Ryan is the new Belichick, the motivator that asks 'why not to the Super Bowl'? I am of the opinion that the J-E-T-S will be the team to beat in the AFC East. With no axe to grind regarding either team, an Indy win cements Peyton's credentials, N.O. is more sentimental with the problems down there. So a good game will ensue, thinking of Super Bowl hors d'oeuvres already...

The Snow Leopard is fine, only a $10 upgrade since we bought the Mac Mini last August. Seems to run fine, the usual new drivers for the printer compared to OS X. I haven't even checked out all the features yet...

  17. Bond Says:
  18. RALPH: I agree...and when Sanchez has some more time to develop he could be a good one...

Leopard has some nice features I have been happy with it indeed.

  19. ...I want Joe Montana back...

  20. Patti Says:
  21. Not much of a sports fan, and I'll root for whoever Ralph wants to win.
As for the Superbowl, I like the appetizers/hors d'oeuvres and waiting for the commercials. ;-)

  22. Patti Says:
  23. P.S. Happy Birthday to Rich. Another newspaper person!!

  24. Bond Says:
  25. PHFRANKIE: I'll call and check to see if that is possible

PATTI: I love the food too...

  26. Happy Birthday to brother Rich!

As to the Super Bowl, well.....you know my thoughts. :)

  27. Bond Says:
  28. SONGBIRD: no, I am clueless as to who you will root for??? LOLOL

  29. Fred Says:
  30. When I put a few pictures of Rich on Facebook, sure enough, a person noted that he looked like Rahm Emanuel.

I'm sure he'll do a great job. The rest of his buddies should work so hard.

  31. Howard Bagby Says:
  32. I am not much of a football fan, but I will be rooting for the Saints. I won't be watching the game because I will be working that night. As far as dreaming when it comes to sports I know what you mean. I am still dreaming of the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series.

  33. Jeff B Says:
  34. You do realize that you said "Mets" and "World Series" in the same sentence don't you?

    Bwahahahaha

    Happy Birthday Rich

I'll probably be watching the game at home this year. No big plans as of yet (aka, no invites to parties)

I agree about the commercials of late. They used to be pretty entertaining, but haven't been very memorable the last couple of years.

  35. Oh, and no Super Bowl parties here, either to attend or throw. I can't be around people when this one happens, you know?
