Fast Friday

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Friday, February 12, 2010

Another week comes limping in to an end…bringing another weekend of enjoyment with my baby…

No real plans this weekend, it is still pretty cold here, but the weather appears to be changing over with temps expected in the 50’s next week.

So I have been trying to get onto Facebook more often and read things my friends write and communicate with old friends.

I have been getting poked by friends to get onto Twitter and send tweets…of course this might be beneficial for promoting Music On The Couch, but I am not sure I want to only use it for that…I just do not know if I can do The Couch, Mangia Y’all, Music On The Couch, Facebook AND Twitter…

But…I did sign up and created an account. Can you guess what name I used? Go on…try and find me out there in Twitter-ville…see iffen you can do it…

I have sent out just one Tweet so far…I am following two people – but there is the other set-back. I set up for mobile and dang if my cell phone does not bing every five minutes (the two guys I am following are both musicians and are both Twitter-prolific). SO then I set it up for only Direct Tweets to be sent to my phone and – of course – no one knows I am on there (except Nancy) and so, no direct tweets!

A true conundrum indeed.

I am still growing…I am the first to admit that. And I learn something new almost every day. I hope that never ends.

I was thinking about the reads I have almost every day while I eat my lunch.

On Wednesday, TRAVIS of "Trav's Thoughts" treated us to new poetry. Travis got his dark on and came up with a winner IMHO.

Two weeks ago, BURL of "Musings Of The Burl"recounted the tragedy of the Challenger mission from a viewpoint you might not expect.

If you want to see a master at work over the next month or so, check out MICKEY-T at "Mahihini Tennessee" will have a pictorial history of the carpentry job he is undertaking.

On Thursday, DIANNE of "Forks Of The Moment", let her grand daughter Hope take the reigns with her iPOOD t-shirt and the magic of digital cameras.

LAYLA of "Layla's Classic Rock" has given the floor to some of her friends to contribute and each day another album/artist/concert is presented and then discussed in comments. The posts are well written, balanced, and these people know their music. No, I am not a contributor!

"TUGS PHOTOS" shows us her world from "Hell, CO" and the neighboring environs...she had developed an excellent eye and touch with lighting..check her out.

Need an Idol fix? THE POPEYE could be your oasis in the desert. But you need the oasis to be filled with beers and shots and a dash of snark.

Honestly, I could go on...but if you look to the right, you will see the scroll menu of MY FRIENDS (right there --->)...everyone of them is there for a reason...some make me think, some make me laugh, some make me wonder, and I am thankful I have found them all...

I decided to do this for fun…Flashback to my very first post ever…

March 16, 2006….

Well... welcome to the BIG LEATHER COUCH... this will be my place to open the top of my head and let all that information up there spill out.

It will take the form of stream of conscienceness and rants and raves...but it will also be well thought out and concise (yeah like I ever do anything concise!)

I am hoping you will bookmark me and come and visit.

The plan is to post daily, but that might not always happen...so be patient...

Like what you see? Want to help contribute to my piggy bank? We will be looking for advertising along the way and hope you join the COUCH in that way also...

Have a great WEEKEND ALL!

12 Of Your Sparks

  1. Travis Says:
  2. Thanks for the shout. I appreciate it. I haven't read the other blogs you noted, so I'll have to venture over and see what's what.

Opening ceremonies tonight from just up I-5. It's nice to have the Olympics in my time zone for a change.

  3. Tug Says:
  4. Thanks for the shout out friend... Have a wonderful weekend spent with Nancy. I'm headed north to see my valentine's, the kiddos. ;-)

  5. Jay Says:
  6. Ugh! Facebook. Don't get me started. I keep trying to do more on there and they keep trying to make it as difficult and frustrating as possible.

I'm now following you on twitter. Not that you'll be on there.

Also, don't use Twitter's mobile. There are lots of apps for twitter. Tweetgrid, Tweetdeck and several others for iPhone. Check 'em out dude.

  7. Matt-Man Says:
  8. Dude...seriously? Did you need to re-post that picture? Have a good weekend, Vin. Cheers!!

  11. Bond, thanks for the mention...I love it that my old blog has new life with some awesome writers. the ONLY reason on earth I did not ask you to contribute cause I figured you were too dang busy!

Here is an idea for your Twitter account (this is how I use it). Use twitterfeed (or a similar program) and have all your blog posts twitted every time you publish one! That way you don't have to put forth an effort, but your presence is there.

You have an open invitation to write on my blog any day of the week (and twice on Sunday).

It makes me happy to see you so happy in love with your wife!

  12. Meribah Says:
  13. I used to have a Twitter account (before Twitter became popular cuz, lets face it, I'm a nerd!) but have since deleted it. Looks like I won't be following you that way. Fortunately, there are other, better, ways...bwahahahahaha! :P

  14. Micky-T Says:
  15. Let's face it, Facebook's face value dwindles more and more all the time.

Thanks for the shout Vinny, I can bore the masses with my work!
He keeps adding more work everyday with a good eye for what will look good. More arches!

  16. Dianne Says:
  17. it was cool seeing you there on Twitter
Doc told me you were there
    or maybe Jay did

    thanks for the shout out
Hope sends big giant hugs :)

  18. BeckEye Says:
  19. Thanks for the shout-out. If I could figure out some way to offer my readers beer and shots, I bet I'd have a lot more followers. This technology needs to be in me soon.

  20. Mimi Lenox Says:
  21. The picture is awesome. Where has the time gone?

Facebook. I can't keep up. It's quite a commitment. But I like it. I just don't have time to do everything the way it should be done. It's GREAT for promoting peace globes though!

I do have a Twitter account but it's too much to keep up with HOWEVER I found a way to send my posts to Twitter quick and easy automatically with the SHARE feature at the end of all my posts on Blogger. You can do the same with FB or Stumble or Digg yada yada.
    It's a nice little gadget.
I haven't tried the phone thing yet. I think I might get very annoyed with it.

Happy Valentine's weekend to you and the Mrs! Give Nancy a hug for me please.

  22. Dana Says:
  23. So now you've succumbed to that dark side ... again ...

And I had such hope for you!
