Thursday Tidbits....

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Thursday, May 13, 2010

A reminder that I have a post over at REAL LIVE LESBIAN'S Home today and it is a TUNEAGE TUTELAGE!

So today on my way to work I am waiting at a stop light and a car comes up next to me. Next thing I hear is BOOOOOOOM rattle BOOOOOOOM rattle...I could not hear any music, just the BOOOOOOOM of the sub-woofer and then the rattle of the car...the whole car rattled every time!

Of course, the windows were blacked out, so I could not see inside...but it was jarring to my teeth, I can not imagine what it was like inside the sealed car.

BOOOOOOOM rattle

Put this in your "so we screwed up some, who the heck-a-doodle cares" file...

Toyota reported a $1.2BILLION profit for Q1...yup and that is after the recalls and PR nightmare cost them at least $1.0Billion...

So, could LeBron James being playing below his ability to ensure he leaves Cleveland.

All the talking heads keep saying "If LeBron wins the title this year, he will be hard pressed to stay in Cleveland." Well last night I could have played better than LeBron...well, maybe not me...but certainly anyone with basketball ability could have done better.

Man, Arizona is really trying to become the state that anyone could hate. Now they are banning studies that examine one ethnicity. Looks like this November is going to be bloody and nasty as all get-out.

I want to stop illegal immigration...NOW...what I do not want is for citizens - legal citizens - be denied the right to learn about different cultures.

  3. I think this November's elections are going to highlight just how terribly divided this country is.

    Arizona has lost its mind.

  4. :)

  6. The new law in Arizonia has nothing to do with teaching classes about ones ethnic background and culture. That is an intregal part of the education process. Not that you care about the issue beyond the apparent obvious dig, so that you can appear hip and oh so sensitive; BUT the truth is that several school systems had designed courses ONLY for one ethinc group and other ethnic groups were not encouraged to attend (how does that help diversity?) and the teaching in those courses was dominated by how that ethnic group had been opressed by "white america" It was, in essence, using your tax dollars to teach hate of another ethnic group. That is not what teaching about ethnic backgrounds is all about unless you are on the side of hate speech. The original intent of offering classes about culture/ethnic spcific classes was, and is, to encourage all to attend and to use the classes to speak openly about the origins, political and cultural contributions etc. of the group. The intent was never to be a forum for denigrating another culture.

  8. I love love love music. But noise that shakes my back teeth and rattles my eyes is not music. It is so uncomfortable to pull up next to a vehicle with giant speakers and volume made in hell.

  10. Lebron needs to grow up. Or maybe he just doesn't have the killer instinct that he needs to have. But that performance the other night was down right cowardly. Jordan, Magic, Kobe, Bird .. none of those guys would have ever looked so complacent getting blown out like that. And none of them would let an injury force them to take it easy on the court the way he did.

  11. PHFRANKIE: Me also

DIANNE: I think it could be an ugly November

    SONGBIRD: Agree? Disagree? What?

DUSTY: Thank you for knowing me when you hide on the internet...All issues need to be viewed to understand the history of our country. has it helped that we have suppressed the teaching of the incarceration of hundreds of thousands of Japanese-Americans and thousands of Italian-Americans during WW2?
I want to see the syllabus' of these classes. How were others 'discouraged'?
If you knew me you would know I am not on the side of hate speech. Thanks for visiting

TEHNOBABE: No it is not music

JAY: Agree...he disappointed me and if I were a GM of a club thinking about signing him, I would be having some second thoughts

  13. I'm not tryin' to be anonymous, I just am not much into the technology. I don't have a blog and I used my real gmail account but I guess I don't have a profile or something. I found your blog and read it occasionally. I do think that the Italian internment and Japanese internment are important items but I think your missing the point of the law. Anyway here is a copy of the actual legislation. Is there anything so wrong about the wording?
THE LEGISLATURE FINDS AND DECLARES THAT PUBLIC SCHOOL PUPILS SHOULD BE
6 TAUGHT TO TREAT AND VALUE EACH OTHER AS INDIVIDUALS AND NOT BE TAUGHT TO
7 RESENT OR HATE OTHER RACES OR CLASSES OF PEOPLE.
8 15-112. Prohibited courses and classes; enforcement
9 A. A SCHOOL DISTRICT OR CHARTER SCHOOL IN THIS STATE SHALL NOT INCLUDE
10 IN ITS PROGRAM OF INSTRUCTION ANY COURSES OR CLASSES THAT INCLUDE ANY OF THE
    11 FOLLOWING:
12 1. PROMOTE THE OVERTHROW OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT.
13 2. PROMOTE RESENTMENT TOWARD A RACE OR CLASS OF PEOPLE.
14 3. ARE DESIGNED PRIMARILY FOR PUPILS OF A PARTICULAR ETHNIC GROUP.
15 4. ADVOCATE ETHNIC SOLIDARITY INSTEAD OF THE TREATMENT OF PUPILS AS
    16 INDIVIDUALS.

  14. DUSTY: if you have visited before, I hope you know that I encourage debate here. I appreciate your response and taking the time to add the law language.

I thank you again for showing me that - maybe - this law is not the devil as I originally thought. I do encourage classes that teach ethnic diversity and allow ALL students to participate in these classes

  15. You know my thoughts on this now. Laws are open to interpretation; hence, the reason for courts and the seemingly never-ending stream of litigation. The difficult part comes in crafting a piece of legislation that is succinct and precise with as few a loopholes as possible.

Multi-cultural studies to further understanding and acceptance are a good thing; promoting the uprising of one against another is not.

  17. Here's what I think about LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

If you are the two time MVP and have the league's best regular season record for two straight years, and you can't find a way to at least make the finals and compete for a title, then you invite the type of criticism that has been heaped upon you over the last 36 hours.

You give up 120 points and lose by 32 in a pivotal game 5 on your home floor?

The Cavs haven't lost this series against Boston yet, at least not as I write this comment. So we shall see if they can summon the desperation and determination required to avoid elimination and force a game 7.
