THURSDAY THUNKS

As long as there is no unforeseen situations between the time I am writing this and tonight at 8:00pm (Thursday), I will be in Oxford, MS at club called Proud Larrys to see Josh Charles who I have been a huge fan of and introduced y'all to back in October of 2008.

I will be taking pictures (I hope) and will share next week.

I am thinking of suing!!!! You heard it here first....Look who is playing at the same venue July 10th!!!!!!!!!!!! Peace of Mind Orchestra!!!!!

Now you may ask why I am suing, but if you are a long time reader you know exactly why!!!!!

The band I played bass guitar in was called Peace of Mynd...OK, OK all you Perry Mason's, I know the word Mynd is spelled differently for them - Mind - but they still are ripping off the legacy of my high school band who played about a dozen gigs and were on the cusp of stardom when the reality hit that we really were not that good!

But I guess I could shake down this 'orchestra' for a piece of the door, donchathink?

Everyone I know keeps talking about the show "Justified" on F/X. It stars Tim Olyphant, who I loved in "Deadwood". So, I guess I will have to check out on demand and see if all the episodes are there. I checked the website and the first 6 are not up anymore.

Did you hear about Alvin Greene, the 32-year-old unemployed military veteran who lives with his parents, and Tuesday night beat Vic Rawl for South Carolina's Democratic Senate primary and will face incumbent Republican Jim DeMint in November.

This guy won the nomination despite having run essentially no public campaign — no events, no signs, no debates, no website, no fundraising.

Oh and let's not forget that the Associated Press reported that Greene was arrested in November on an obscene photo complaint. The charges are still pending, and Alvin hasn't entered a plea.

-- But in a state where there were sexual allegations against Nikki Haley, who won the Republican Gubernatorial primary on Tuesday, though those seem to be desperate acts by desperate men --

When Alvin was asked about his campaign, he said he kept it small, financed it out of his own pocket and that since he had not reached the $5,000.00 spending limit, he does not have to file a report with the FEC.

He did find a way to come up with the $10,400.00 filing fee to get on the ballot...

"The Democratic Party has chosen their nominee, and we have to stand behind their choice," Greene told the AP at his home in Manning. "The people have spoken. We need to be pro-South Carolina, not anti-Greene."

Yeehawww...ain't politics fun!

Sheesh

As for suing, the way juries go these days I'd be willing to bet you could at least get a couple of bucks out of the deal - though maybe not quite enough to pay the court costs!

  16. Mimi Lenox Says:
  17. I agree with Linda. I think you should sue the pants off 'em! (Don't take pictures of that....just sayin'.)

  18. Travis Cody Says:
  19. Don't anthropologists have some kind of theory they use to explain how two separate and distinct cultures can independently develop an idea or bit of technology?
