This is very cool and I wanted to share it with y'all...

Wolfgang's Vault, that treasure trove of incredible live performances culled from the personal collection of the late Bill Graham is going to be presenting Day On The Green, 1977. The Day on the Green concerts were held at the Oakland Coliseum Stadium in Oakland, California from 1973 - 1991.

The 1977 concert featured Peter Frampton and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Produced by Bill Graham and recorded on July 2, 1977, it is at the height of Frampton's fame and is only three and a half months before the plane crash that took the lives of lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist/vocalist Steve Gaines of Skynyrd and Gaines' sister, backing vocalist Cassie Gaines of the Honkettes. .

Wolfgang's Vault has partnered with "Public Television Rocks!" in association with WNET.ORG / WLIW21 to present this show on public television stations nationwide.

The show premiers Saturday, August 14 at 8 pm on WLIW21 on Long Island and will be broadcast throughout August and September.

This is one to go set the TiVo or DVR to record. I have already put it on my WISHLIST on my TiVo. I type in the name and my little friend will keep it's eyes out for it and record it when it hits the Memphis airwaves.

NEW YORK – Forget Black Friday. It was Tan Tuesday.

The cast of MTV's "Jersey Shore" skipped the beach for a day to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange Tuesday.

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi gave a thumbs up to stock brokers before ringing the bell and waving to the crowd. Fellow cast members Paul DelVecchio and Vinny Guadagnino pumped their fists in the air, and the rest of the group applauded.

I am intrigued...

CINCINNATI (AP)—A year after they were featured on HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” the Bengals have scripted their own reality show.

T.O. and Ocho. Two self-conscious stars, one NFL team.

How will they fit? How will it work? Which receiver will provide most of the drama?

And, more importantly, will any of it help the Bengals get back to the playoffs?

And let's not forget they both have reality shows on VH1 “Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch”, a dating show and then right after comes “The T.O. Show”, which is, of course about T.O.!

  1. DrillerAA09 Says:
  2. It would appear that T.O. and Ocho is a train wreck waiting to happen. At least T.O. is just a one year deal, but I don't see it being very productive for anyone. However, I have been wrong before. They may take the Bengals to the Super Bowl. Maybe not.

  3. Travis Cody Says:
  4. I've seen a lot of clips from that Day on the Green show. I wanted to go so bad and I was so jealous because a lot of my buddies did get to go.

I almost got to go in 1979, but things fell through. After that the rumors about dangerous crowds ran rampant and it didn't seem like such a good idea anymore.

As to the other part of this post, I patiently await the end of the Diva WR Era.

  5. DRILLER: It will be interesting to watch

TRAVIS: I am looking forward to watching this...and do you really think the era will end?

  6. Jay Says:
  7. I'll have to check and see if AETN, our PBS station here in Arkansas will be showing those concerts. AETN has a long history of not showing stuff that other public stations across the country are showing. And, since rock 'n roll is the work of the devil, I wouldn't be surprised if they do it again with this series.

T.O. and Ocho on the same team is going to be interesting. It's unfortunate that both players have this terrible lack of self-control and are such divas. Their antics have overshadowed the fact that they are (or were) both great receivers who have played their asses off and unlike people like Randy Moss have never taken a play off and have never dogged it out there on the field.

  8. ...I attended a few of the Days on the Green...tell me, why can't things be as they were? Why, Vinny, why?...

  9. JAY: Maybe you want to drive over and watch?
I agree with you on both men, except their antics have ruined their ability for me

PHFRANKIE: What about using the way-back machine?

  10. Mimi Lenox Says:
  11. The Ultimate Catch?
    Oh. I can't wait.

  12. Dana Says:
  13. I find it utterly amazing (and a bit disturbing) that there is no requirement to be/do anything special these days to be "famous"

  14. Jeff B Says:
  15. I went to a Day on the Green in '84 or '85...hmmm some time around then...

Rat, Y&T, Meltallica, Alied Forces, and the Scorpions were all on the bill.

It was loud and ruckus, but what I can remember (yeah, I inhaled) the crowd was pretty cool.

  16. MIMI: Maybe you can get on the show?

DANA: You and me both my friend

JEFFB: Looks like it was a wonderful event...
