Five On Friday

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Friday, August 20, 2010

Remember Brother Rich's  LyricSong for Every Day of the Year Project is to come up with songs that mention, or refer to, every single one of the 366 days of the (leap) year. The aim is nothing more than simply coming up with a really cool, really long list of song titles.

There are many more entries in the last two weeks, but there are still many open dates and I also know some of my readers are music encyclopedias - or at least knowledgeable!

This is a cool thing indeed...

Check it out HERE

Each week TRAVIS from "Trav's Thoughts" hosts Five On Friday where we get to select five songs of any mix we care....

Check out the other participants by clicking on his link above...and join in!

You can register for free at and type in a band name and BAM the song will be there to assist in building your playlist.

Travis lays out some guidelines for this meme and they go like this:

1. Grab the banner, make your post title Five on Friday, and be sure to link back here.

2. Go to to make your play list of five songs. Choose a particular theme to share with us. You can simply post the play list, or you can add a little summary about what you are sharing.

3. I don't know how to make a specific linky, so be sure to leave me a comment to let me know that you participated.

4. No tags, but feel free to invite your friends to play along if they need a post topic on a Friday.

I rarely do videos, but today I will. I offer up five videos of an amazing young man. His name is Josh Roberts and he has been a budding star here in Memphis for a while now and he is only now 24-25.

His full time gig is with the Reba Russell Band - Reba will be my guest on MUSIC ON THE COUCH this Monday - but he also sits in with friends from other bands here in town. The guy just loves to play. And play he does.

I found these five. Now they will take some time to listen/view them all, but I think it is worth it, so ...

I hope you enjoy...

This is a solo by Josh from the Mid-South Fair last year...

Josh and "Piana"Man Victor Wainwright a close friend and a hell of a guy
This is long but worth it for Josh's guitar work, Victors howling vocals and piano runs

A snippet of his talents. The man who built this guitar asked the band to sign it and
Josh just had to let a few runs rip...

Josh's full time gig as Reba's axeman

OK, so this one features Reba's soul-wrenching vocals
more than Josh's guitar work...but go on criticize me for adding this one!
It is also the oldest one, almost 2 years ago
