Monday and a new week begins

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Monday, December 06, 2010

Welcome to another week here on The Couch. The first full week of the last month of the year.

It has made me think back on this year and the changes that have occurred while at the same time how things have not changed at all...and in a few instances, that is not a good thing...

I think this will be a subject I am going to look at long and hard this month as we near the year 2011.

The cruise was a much needed re-energizer. Having family close like that can be just what the doctor ordered.

Nancy left for another week in Louisiana on Sunday. She will be back Friday, hopefully in time for Christmas party being hosted by the CMO of the company where I am embedded.

We leave for Florida in about 18 days to spend time with Mom Joan and Dad Vince. Dad will be having his 4th radiation treatment today, then 38 more. He feels fine and is waving right now...

What? You didn't see him? Well he was there!

Most likely, I will be in the Los Angeles area the first week in January....dang, that is like three weeks away! So much to do before that can happen...

Back on Music On The Couch this evening with my guests "Papa" Don McMinn. "Papa" is a Memphis legend whose music and band were a huge part of the revitalization of Beale Street in the mid 1980's. He is still out playing, now with his two sons behind him on drums and bass.

We will talk to him about his world-wide appeal and where his music is heading into another year in the business.

Then Andy Coats will join me. Andy is from Raleigh, North Carolina and his blend of Piedmont-Delta Blues is infectious.

Hope you can join us Live At 9:00pm central or listen anytime in the archives. Or just Subscribe On iTunes and the shows will be downloaded automatically and there whenever you have some time.

  2. It is coming to the end of another year isn't it. Not sure I'll spend much time in reflection this year. It was a good year, but the first year without dad. So, I will probably look back on a few things and then move on.

  3. Ob la di Ob la da life goes on,bra..Will the circle be unbroken? Time is a jet plane, it moves too fast...We are children of the Earth...and so on...

  4. Jay Says:
  5. Welcome back dude.

You've got some serious traveling to do over the next couple of months. Sounds like fun!

  6. Coco Says:
  7. It's a season for reflection. I hope most of your thoughts are happy ones.

  8. Maggie Moo Says:
  9. You really are on the move this month! Spending time with family and friends is what this season is all about..I'm glad you're getting to travel.

Still makes me sad that Dad Vince has to go through this...prayers still coming his way.

So-do you ever travel to Boston!?!

  10. The older I get, the less I like traveling, especially by air. It's just such a hassle, and I don't like being away from my comfort zone.

I'll try to listen live tonight. I'll really, really try...... :)

  11. DRILLERAA: Looking back is not my thing normally, but I think this year it might be time

SIGMUND: that is what I said!

JAY: Thanks, and yes I do...but not sure it will all be fun

    COCO: They are indeed

MAGS: Dad is getting through the sessions well. 4 down 39 left...
Have not been back Boston way, but you know darn well if I am, you will be hearing from me

SONGBIRD: Does not bother me...yet...I know you try.

  12. Travis Cody Says:
  13. I'm not much for reflection anymore. I'd rather go with my was what it was, it is what it is, and it's going to be what it's going to be. The things I can control, I will, and the thing I can't, I'll handle.

Glad as always to hear that your dad is doing well.

  14. Dianne Says:
  15. I saw Dad waving :)
give him a hug from me

and thanks for remembering, made me smile
