Monday and a new week begins

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Monday, January 17, 2011

Hey y' closed today for Martin Luther King celebration...Will be spending it getting myself more organized.

Still without a car...should be repaired by Friday the latest...getting to and from work this week is going to be a real challenge for Nancy and I.

Tonight we begin to feature some artists who will be traveling to Memphis for the International Blues Challenge February 2-5.

I will be on Beale Street each evening helping to cover the event for American Blues News, so I hope oyu check out the link on my sidebar and check out the great coverage we will be giving you.

Tonight's guests are Ms. Valerie June, the Memphis Blues Society entrant for the solo/duo category. Valerie is a total talent and I believe you will ove her music.

Also Toni and Eric Dodd from Toni Dodd and Southbound Blues, the Santa Clarita Valley Blues Society entrant in the band category will be joining me. This band was the representative for SCVBS in 2004 and they have grown musically since then.

Still too dang cold here in Memphis, with temps hovering in the low 30's...I moved South to get away from this weather goodness gracious.

My niece Candice has started a blog called EMBRACE G-FREE where she will write about her journey in becoming Gluten Free.

Candice has dealt with health issues for a number of years which I wrote about in this post, and finally (after reading Elizabeth Hasselbeck's book The G-Free Diet. Though she does not have Celiac Disease like Ms. Hasselbeck, since going Gluten-free she has been able to live a better life.

If you have a chance, check out Candice's blog and give her some encouragement.

Some good football and some bad football this weekend...Jets-Pats game still not over, so not sure how that one will turn out.

Hope y'all have a chance to come sit on The Couch this evening...and remember, I am now soliciting sponsorships for the show. Each sponsorship is $10.00 per show and if you buy 10, you get two free...
