Travis lays out some guidelines for this meme and they go like this:

1. Grab the banner, make your post title Five on Friday, and be sure to link back here.

2. Go to to make your play list of five songs. Choose a particular theme to share with us. You can simply post the play list, or you can add a little summary about what you are sharing.

3. No tags, but feel free to invite your friends to play along if they need a post topic on a Friday.

So, I have been in Chicago the last half of this week. In cold, rainy, windy Chicago that is.

Thinking about a theme, I decided to do city songs. Cities I have visited, mainly for business (besides my birth city of New York, though I have gone back there on business since I moved, so it does fit the theme).

Have a Grand weekend

  2. Oh, I'd forgotten about Streets of Philadelphia. I used to love that song!! Thanks for the reminder. :)

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. I can't believe nobody has ever written a song about Redneckville. If I write one and record it, can I be a guest on The Couch? ha

  4. Unknown Says:
  5. Wilbert Harrison takes the cake in this one.

  6. Mike Golch Says:
  7. cool theme of cities,I enjoyed them.

  8. Cherie Says:
  9. Loved the music. Let the set repeat a few times as I worked on other things. Great soundtrack. :)

  10. Dianne Says:
  11. ahhhhh Sinatra!
funny he never did a song for Jersey ;)

    hope things are going better

  12. Travis Cody Says:
  13. Odd that has If You Go to San Francisco credited to Mamas and Papas. John Phillips wrote it, but unless my ear has gone bad, that is Scott McKenzie singing.

    Great Set anyway!

  14. Redneckville - LOL!

I went to YouTube to listen to all of these, as Playlist doesn't play for me. :-(

So I got to hear the real Mamas and Papas version, and it ended up being my favorite from your set this week.

  15. Travis: You got me dude...I was in a rush to put the set together and I added that "mama's and Papa's" to it without listening and realizing it is the Scott McKenzie version
