Monday and a new week begins...

Sparks Of Insanity By Vinny "Bond" Marini Monday, October 03, 2011

End of quarter was difficult and had me tied up most of the week causing me to miss Five on Friday.

I should have one this week, but I had to pre-plan it as this is the week of the King Biscuit Blues Festival. The granddaddy of them all.

The lineup is impressive once again. Goon, check it out! What do you think?

Nancy and I leave early Thursday for the 90 minute trip. OH, and we have press passes this year, so we will be up closer to the main stage for photo ops.

I will be posting pictorials over at American Blues News on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Hope you check them out.

Two fine "Musicians You Should Know" this evening on Music On The Couch. Nik West is a fantastic R&B artist who is a skilled bass guitar player. Darren J Fallas leads a fine band here in Memphis and is also the president of the Memphis Blues Society.

Come hand out in the chat room at 9pm central.

Bought a reconditioned phone and received it on Friday. SO I am back in touch with the world.

Was strange not having a phone. The day I went out to see if I could buy one here in town, the company I was guided to had closed their doors and moved. I was not sure where the address was and had to go back to the office to get online to see a map, instead of pulling one up on the phone - which of course I did not have!

How our lives have changed!

8 Of Your Sparks

  1. Since I don't have a smart phone, I don't think I've ever missed having one. But, life without internet, even just for a few hours is pure hell.

  3. The battery on my Blackberry has started to drain faster than it should, so I'll be in the market for a new phone shortly. Sprint has a great plan that supports a smart phone, so perhaps I'll see what they are like.

I really enjoy my Blackberry though. It's very easy to use.

  4. I'm glad you got a new phone. I forgot my phone at home one day, and I couldn't believe how "crippled" I felt. I use that phone for so many things.

Trav, once you leave BlackBerry for another smartphone (preferably an Android!), you won't believe how difficult it was to do things on a BlackBerry. I've had my Droid X for over a year now, and I would never go back to a BlackBerry.

  6. I agree about the Blackberry. I have one for work and I hate it. I have a Nexus S for personal use and love it. I find myself having so much trouble using the Blackberry.

  8. Back in Blogland...

My iPhone is about a year and a half old now. I figure it has another six months left, just in time to have to renew my contract.

  9. Here's hoping you see alot of good music!

    Oh, how times have changed!

  13. Stopping in to say hi! Been so busy lately, blogging has all but fallen by the wayside.

Enjoy your trip, can't wait to see what pics you get with those press passes!
