Donna Lewis is ok, but I really like Josh Charles. Definitely can hear Dr. John in him. I want to make his show tonight but work is early tomorrow and I don't think I can do it. I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. John shows up at his show since they're close and I know the Doctor is down for Jazz Fest. It should be a great show.

I had the same thoughts as DrillerAA on Donna Lewis - just a little too bubble gum for me. But Josh Charles? Not only does he have a great voice and style, but I loved the horns in "Picking Up The Pieces"

I'll be OK, thanks - just had granddaughter coughing & sneezing in my face for a weekend ;-). Well worth it. J's still really sore, but ok - thank you! They're on fall break so he can actually get some rest & relax a little, which is good.

Really do like Picking up the Pieces here...and I like Donna, too, just wish it was a little stronger maybe? Not sure what word I'm looking for - she sounds too airy...light...maybe a little 'oomph' in it - does that make sense?

Never heard of either. Since I was still in rock radio in 1996 I am surprised I had never heard of Lewis. But either way, it's a no to her from me. Not bad, but sounds like a lot of singers I like better.

Donna Lewis' sound is just not for me. It sounds a little like a teen pop star attempting to do adult contemporary.
Josh Charles is the kind of music I really enjoy. There is a real blues sound with just enough soul to pay homage to the past without sounding like he's trying to imitate the greats. I would buy this CD. Thanks for sharing his stuff with us.
